Vintage 2009 - The vintage 2009 was marked by a good spring with rain and heat at the right time. Summer was dry and hot, which anticipated the harvest in one week, compared to the usual date.
Rain and cold nights of mid- September benefited a slower ripeness of the black grapes, so we could wait for the right phenolic ripeness. Therefore, we have achieved great aromas and a fantastic colour extraction from the red grapes.
A fact to highlight is that the Garnacha grapes achieved the ripeness level before the Tempranillo grapes did, so we have been able to release to the market our rosé Garnacha earlier than the usual date. Therefore, the vintage 2009 is a superb year in quality, with high concentration and
elegance and with lower yields than those obtained in the vintage 2008 at Bodegas Ochoa.
