Red Graciano & Garnacha Rosado de Lágrima
Red Graciano & Garnacha Rosado de Lágrima
Rosado de Lágrima
Variety: Red Garnacha (50%) y Cabernet Sauvignon (50%).
Making
To obtain the must we use the traditional bleeding system, where the must remains in contact with the solid parts for a short period (12 hours for Garnacha, 6 for Cabernet) to be moved to a stainless steel tank, where it will ferment at a controlled temperature of 18ºC.
Tasting The wine has a pretty bright raspberry pink colour, with slight purple hues that shows its youth. On the nose it shows shy when opening the bottle, which wakes up to offer an incredible complexity: red fruits, fresh grape hints and a mineral point that reminds us of the land it comes from. Long and complex on the palate, it’s remarkable the sweetness of the Garnacha combined with the Cabernet Sauvignon’s tannic power, becoming this wine a versatile rosé suitable for any occasion.
Best served at: Cold (8ºC)
Gastronomy: Goes perfectly with the Italian cuisine (pasta, risotto…); Oriental cuisine (sweet-sour dishes); and with the traditional cuisine (vegetables, white meat, rice and barbecues)
Presentation 75 cl. bottle
Features
Alcohol: 13º
Soil: calcareous clay limestone.

Vintage 2008 - We had a fifteen-day average delay because of the rain and cold in spring. That’s why we started the grape harvest the 23rd of September instead of starting about the 8th of September. It was an atypical year in terms of maturity. The garnacha grapes matured even before tempranillo, probably because of the smaller amount of polyphenols in its grape skin. It was a gap between the technological maturity (degree and acidity) and the phenolic maturity (polyphenols). It’s been a year to be relaxed, waiting for the ripeness without worrying. The year is considered excellent thanks to the warm days (18º-25º C during the day) and very cold nights (5-9º C). This made the polyphenols to mature well. This year we’ve got very fine, elegant and stable tannins.
